Uneasy

Hi…I’m in Alpharetta, Georgia and I do not have my camera with me!! I take it everywhere, but I didn’t bring it as I was afraid I’d leave it somewhere or even worse.  Now…I’m missing it.

So..I started looking at pictures on my computer, and I realized, it’s my work laptop and there are only a few pictures on it (ok…more like a few hundred but I’ve already shown you all of them.)

I wanted to show you a picture of the fainting goats, Mason and Dixon, that live on Swinging Bridge Road.    Mason is a gentleman, but Dixon should be called Humpy.  He is not neutered and is in love with just about everything that he comes across.   There are big plans for Dixon as he will be fathering baby fainting goats when his Momma finds just the right little lady for him.   However, I’m going to have to wait until this weekend to let you see these two cuties.

I did find one picture I  know I haven’t shared.    Booby Hill…look in the horizon…when I was  a teenager, those two hills were grazed completely smooth…they looked like…well..boobies!   We actually called them something similar but not quite the same.

Boobies are now leading my conversation thread.   Since I’ve been in Georgia, I’ve seen a cement mixer and a trash truck that were totally pink with the breast cancer awareness logo.

But speaking of trucks, I haven’t seen many pickup trucks and the cars are not dirty.   How do these people stay so skinny?

Why do I feel uneasy when I’m here?

Hey Eva, we call that hill with the twin peaks “Dolly Parton”, or just “Dolly” for short.

        Hi Eva .
I agree with Pat about the”hills” Always heard them called
“Dolly”.Matter of fact thats how I introduced Fred to them lol.
Trucks in Ga? Everywhere at least this part of Ga. I myself prefer to drive ours more than our other vehicle BUT I have never been to Alpharetta so can not compare.
Dirt roads. .I have been on a few here but they are or seem to be different than ours in Va. (Ours back home in Mendota are rougher, more mud and deeper holes lol) also not as hard to clean off vehicles. Key to so many clean $10.00 car washes around every turn (Ga Dirt clay ) so needless to say mine doesnt alwsys look its best and last girl you are skinny so you must have the secret not Ga. Of course Ga doesnt have an About Face right??? Enjoying your pictures. .

Deidra…hey…thank you for reading RiverCliff Cottage. Does it make you a little homesick? When I lived away, anything remotely from Mendota made me homesick even though I was perfectly happy wherever I was. Strange..those roots from home.

I live about 2 miles from Alpharetta, Georgia. It depends on what part of the area you’re visiting. Over the past 35 years we’ve experienced what I refer to as a yuppie invasion. This was once all farms and rural 35 years ago. People loved how quaint it “was” so they moved here with their suburban idiology and ruined it for long time locals like us! I live on acreage and we still live a rural life complete with overalls, tractor, gardens, etc. But its not like it was when granddad ran the feed and grain and you had to drive 30 miles into Atlanta to shop. The yuppie immigrants sort of look down on the original residents. If you come back and long to see a dirty old truck I can hook you up! Lol

Bobbie – you are the first person I’ve ever heard from or talked with that is “really” from Alpharetta. Thank you for visiting RiverCliff Cottage and you can bet I WILL look you up if I head back that way!!
